Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
…From yesterday…
Until you change your language, the status quo remains! Let’s go back to Exodus and hear one of the instructions God gave Moses:
Exodus 4:11 “And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?”
Exodus 4:12 “Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.”
Exodus 4:12 “So, get going. I’ll be right there with you–with your mouth! I’ll be right there to teach you what to say.”” (MSG)
God seems to be telling Moses here that He made the human mouth and that by wrong use of the mouth some people have become dumb (I am sure you remember John the Baptist’s father!).
God told Moses that in order for him to do well He would be with his mouth. You would recall that then there was no book of the law in written form, so God had to be “with the mouth of Moses” to make sure he spoke the right words always.
After that, God instructed Moses to document everything; the words, the principles, the acts, etc. into the book of the law for Joshua and others, including you and I to have, read, master and declare!
God instructed Joshua to go pick up the book of the law and keep speaking it day and night. In the same vein, God is telling you and I the same thing as we go on the journey of 2016!
You’ve got to mind your language! If you must speak, speak the word of God only!
Joshua understood and mastered the principles so well that he demonstrated it to great effect. Hear this:
