This Book of the Law-5

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
…From yesterday…
Nothing scared Moses. They needed to fight a war; he simply asked Joshua to be the commanding officer in battle while he withdrew to the top of the mountain. On getting there, he simply raised his hands and Israel won! When he was tired, he simply got two men to hold up his hands!
Exodus 17:10 “So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
When they needed water, he simply smote the rock and water gushed out.
Numbers 20:11 “And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts [also].”
Moses was a man with all the answers. He gave the people bread without a bakery in the wilderness! Meat without stress! He was never rattled. He even spoke to God face to face!
Exodus 33:11 “And the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Moses returned to the camp, but his minister Joshua son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the [temporary prayer] tent.”
Beloved, I doff my cap for Moses. If you and I were told to replace him, we would be scared stiff as well!
I am sure part of the reason Joshua was scared was the thought of being the soldier, the priest and prophet, all put together.
To be continued…
