Praise with Understanding-4

Psalms 47:7 “For God [is] the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.”
Psalms 47:7 “For God is the King of all the earth; make songs of praise with knowledge.” (BBE)
…From yesterday…
What exactly is praise?
Praise is simply adoring God for who He is and for who He has made you to be. It is saying “thank you” to God for your present situation!
Praise is the expression of approval or admiration for God; it is also an expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship. We need to understand and appropriate this truth in order to enjoy the benefits associated with praise.
I am sure one question you’ll like to ask me is why or how I should thank God for where I am. “This is not where I chose to be; this is not where my mates are. This is not what I expected from God.
“In 2015, I had so much hope, vision and aspirations but only few came to pass. I had several things lined up but some are yet to be done…bla bla bla!”
I understand your point, but the truth is, I have news for you! That you have the brain to even think of what is yet undone shows God deserves your praise! Have you ever been to a mental home or asylum to see people who have lost their mind? Have you ever seen a “professional” mad man or woman?
Do you know there are people who cannot sleep without heavy dose of sedatives? That your mind is still sane despite what you don’t have is a reason for praise and thanksgiving.
You’re complaining that you have no “new shoes”, have you met somebody without legs?
You plan moving into a 3 bedroom apartment from your self-contained room and it didn’t happen and you feel God has done nothing. I think you need to drive round the streets at night and see the number of homeless folks hanging around city centers.
Here is the point, where you are is SOMEBODY’S PRAYER POINT!
To be continued…
