The Audit-8

Luke 16:1 “And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.”
Luke 16:2 “And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.”
Luke 16:2 “So he called him in and said, ‘What’s this I hear about you? You’re fired. And I want a complete audit of your books.'”(MSG)
…From yesterday…
This particular steward committed the sin of wastage! He mismanaged the Master’s goods. The Master summoned him and ask him to do a self audit even though the “All Knowing” Master knew what he had done.
Beloved, how have you handled the Master’s business in 2015?
I hope you knew the money you were spending anyhow without thinking came from Him? I know you’re probably thinking you’ve worked very hard to earn it even going as far as calling it your “hard earned money”.
Well, I have news for you, the Master made it pass through your hand to fulfil a divine mandate. You were simply a caretaker! What is the status of your account? Are you rich towards God?
That steward has “an I own it all mentality”, he was busy spending the money on his lust and desires. He felt he was not accountable to anyone until one day when the Master suddenly showed up! Beloved, I want you to know you’re a caretaker.
Audit how your work has been in the year 2015. How early do you go to work? You go to work late and you’re the first to complain about late payment of salaries! What official item(s) have you “cornered” for personal use?
You abuse customers and handle them poorly. Those were some of the ways the steward in Luke 16 mismanaged his Master’s goods.
A pointer to how he mishandled the customers was that when he was given his marching orders he rushed back and started “treating the well” albeit still using mismanagement techniques.
To be continued…
