The Audit-6

Luke 16:1 “And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.”
Luke 16:2 “And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.”
Luke 16:2 “So he called him in and said, ‘What’s this I hear about you? You’re fired. And I want a complete audit of your books.'”(MSG)
…From yesterday…
1 Timothy 4: 13 “Till I come give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”
READING, EXHORTATION and DOCTRINE: How many books did you buy or borrow this year? Don’t let me ask how many times you entered a bookshop! Who and who did you exhort or encourage this year? Did you discuss with people on their dreams and or even help them fulfil them? How about doctrine? When last did you cross check what you were told with what is written in the bible? Are your doctrines those of men or God?
Let’s hear Paul again:
1 Timothy 4:14 “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”
What did you do with your in-born gift this year? Many people discovered their gifts and promised themselves to develop and deploy them this year. Some promised they would start new businesses in the area of their gifting while others said they would enhance theirs. The question is: what have you done with yours? Are you pursuing your dream or still running someone else’s dream? Hope you have not even completely neglected it?
I hope you’re genuinely doing the audit? I guess it’s not easy. You can imagine what it will look like if someone else is to do this for you, let alone God Almighty doing it!
Paul rounded up this way: “Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4:15).
To be continued…
