Except the Lord…3

Psalms 127:1 “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.”
Romans 9:15 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
Romans 9:16 “So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”
…From yesterday…
Take a look at the very next verse:
Psalms 3:6 “I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set [themselves] against me round about.”
King David was literally saying in the midst of enemies I still sleep and wake up! Do you know demons and spirits generally don’t sleep or go on vacation? Yet you sleep and wake up as if the devil no longer exists!
I am not going too far to give you a reason to praise God; I am using something we all easily do and perhaps neglect and despise; it is called sleep. If you know the mechanisms involved in sleeping and waking you will be scared.
Friend, forget all those other complex reasons you’re waiting for to praise God, things like a new house, new job, better car, graduation, another contract, etc. Thank Him for something as “common” as sleeping and waking!
Except the Lord makes you to sleep and wake, you labour in vain!
Come to think of it; that job you hold so dear and the money you’re making, how do you think it came? I’ve heard people say, “I work hard for my money! I earn every bit of it!” Those are unbiblical statements; my bible says “except the Lord, labour is in vain!”
There are people that work harder than you do, yet can’t afford one decent meal! It’s not about the hard work, it’s “except the Lord!”
He said, “…not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” It’s all about His great mercy!
To be continued…
