Psalms 127:1 “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.”
Romans 9:15 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
Romans 9:16 “So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

I want you to bow before Him today, discard all those thoughts of yours that make you think it was your expertise that kept you; don’t fall into self-delusion. Our focal scripture said, “Except the Lord…they labour in vain”.
I am sure you did elementary English and as such should be able to fill in the gap!
I tell people that we have several drugs that can easily make us to sleep, several kinds of sedatives. In fact, it is said that the amount of sleeping pills consumed at night worldwide if ground into powder can build skyscrapers! This means a lot of people rely on drugs to sleep!
But even at that nobody has yet invented a drug to wake man from sleep! What tablet do you take to wake up?
In actual sense, even the sleep we are talking about does not come via the tablets, it is still from God! Hear this:
Psalms 127:2 “…he giveth his beloved sleep.”
Psalms 127:2 “…Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?”(MSG)
Psalms 3:5 “I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”
Can you imagine that? Both our sleeping and waking are His handiwork! Beloved, haven’t you seen people that used sleeping pills but stayed awake? God controls that mechanism, and we can’t do anything about it other than to thank Him! We sure have every cause to thank Him!
