Jonah 1:1 “Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,”
Jonah 1:2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.”
Jonah 1:3 “But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.”
There is a prayer we constantly pray in our church, it says, “My path and the path of my destiny helpers will cross”.
There are people that have been assigned to help you. There are people that actually have what it takes for you to get to the next level you’ve been praying for. What they are carrying for you could be an information, a gift, a skill, a word of encouragement, an idea, an instruction, a word of prayer or even their labour into your life.
God designed life that way, part of what I need is in another and part of what another needs is in me. No man is an island or a know it all. God made us interdependent on each other. No man is supposed to work alone. Success is a collection of several things and people. it is only a fool that thinks he can succeed alone.
Even God didn’t do it alone! He consulted the Son and the Holy Spirit in making man. He had to cooperate with Abraham to birth the Jewish race and by extension you and I. All through history He always cooperate with a man at every junction when he needed to get things done.
Can God go solo? Yes He can because He is the Almighty and the All Sufficient one but He chose to show us an example to follow and the power of cooperation.
The focus of this piece however is not on cooperation and those other elements of success but on the “Jonahs of your life”.
What do I mean by this? Who are these Jonahs? How do I handle them?
