Sometimes in the cause of counselling people, I have had cause to ask them this question, “Why did you do it?” Most times people will simply tell me, “Something was telling me…” Well, “something” most times tells them to do evil and it is not something, it is either their flesh or the devil speaking to them, thereby orchestrating their action.
As a believer, don’t let “something” tell you to do evil. If you’re born again, there is no “something” to talk to you. The one talking to you is not “something”, He is “Someone”!
Paul said, “Let the Spirit of God be your motivating factor. Let Him determine the action you take and the one you don’t. As a believer, you should know His voice and act at His prompting. It is not “something.” He is “Someone”!
Another thing that should motivate your action is Honour for God. Before doing anything, ask yourself this question: “Will this action glorify God or dishonor Him?” “Will this step I am about to take please God?”
2 Corinthians 5:9 “So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him.”(NLT)
2 Corinthians 5:9 “But neither exile nor homecoming is the main thing. Cheerfully pleasing God is the main thing, and that’s what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions.”(MSG)
