John 12:3 “Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.”
John 12:4 “Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], which should betray him,”
John 12:5 “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?”
John 12:6 “This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.”

A mentor of mine said he was praying and fasting seriously for his church to be filled and for God to bring in wealthy people.
He even told his members to pray and fast and engage evangelism. He told the members that souls are perishing and the coming of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ is at hand, so souls must be won. The members became very proactive and vigorous.
He told them there is joy in heaven over a sinner that they bring to repentance, as that means more stars on their crowns in heaven! Everybody wanted stars on their crowns in heaven and so became dead committed to the “vision”.
But, he said nothing serious happened. Still people were not coming to church. He said he intensified his prayers, and then one day, the Holy Spirit asked him a question. “Why do you really want your church to be filled?”
He said he became silent because the Holy Spirit brought him face to face with the real reason for his prayers and sudden surge in evangelism mobilization! The Holy Spirit told him the real reason he wanted an explosive church growth. He said, “I refuse bringing people to your church because your intention for wanting more people is to increase the finances of your church!
He told him: “My church is not a business venture to boost your ego and make more money for yourself. It is a hospital on the way to heaven. I want to use the church to treat the sick…
