Motives-4

John 12:3 “Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.”
John 12:4 “Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s [son], which should betray him,”
John 12:5 “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?”
John 12:6 “This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.”
…From yesterday…
It’s no big deal for God to bless us, but the question is, who will take the glory? When the blessing finally lands, will you still be the humble soft spoken, well-mannered you or will you become the exact opposite?
As it is popularly said, “Money is neutral; it only takes on the personality of the owner!”
I have had people say, “God, just bless me with a car so that my neighbours will see that I have also arrived!” Arrived where?
“God, give me a baby to show this my family members that I can also conceive.” They have oppressed me with their wealth; Lord, I want to pay them back in their own coin”.
“God bless me with riches and wealth, so that I can also celebrate and organise parties like my colleagues. I want to be able to do what my mates are doing. Spend money like them and enjoy life to the fullest.”
Men measure actions; God measures intentions.
Friend, it’s no big deal for God to bless you, but the issue is: after receiving the blessing where will you be on Sunday morning? In your house relaxing? Or in His House worshipping? The bible says that God is not mocked and cannot be mocked.
You may not say it out quite alright, but He knows! A mentor of mine said he was praying and fasting seriously for his church to be filled and for God to bring in wealthy people.
To be continued…
