Watch Your Association-1

Proverbs 13:20 “He that walketh with wise [men] shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with wise people and become wise; befriend fools and get in trouble.” (CEB)
Proverbs 13:20 “Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.” (MSG)
Welcome, to this glorious month of November 2015. The Lord that has kept us and brought us this far in this great year will surely see us through in Jesus’ name. Like I admonished yesterday, you may be tired or even fainting, but remember what Gideon and his folks did and do same.
Judges 8:4 “And Gideon came to Jordan, [and] passed over, he, and the three hundred men that [were] with him, faint, yet pursuing [them].”
Faint, yet pursuing! Give your God given dreams and those beautiful visions and New Year resolutions a hot chase; don’t you ever give up!
Today, I want to talk about something that can enhance your speed and the pursuit of your dreams. It is called the Law of Association. If you hang around people that are fainting and giving up, you will do same, and if you hang around those that are fainting, yet pursuing, you will receive supply of energy to keep you going!
The Law of Association states that “If you are not becoming like them, they certainly are becoming like you”.
Has it ever occurred to you that both the wise and the foolish have similar behaviours and attitudes? King Solomon said in our focal scripture for the day that the wise and foolish both keep friends, but the difference is in the type and quality.
I once heard a counsel from a mentor of mine, Rev. Sam Adeyemi. He said the quality of your life will depend on the top seven people you have closest to you. He said the people you listen to and associate with the most will determine the outcome of your life.
To be continued…
