Faint, Yet Pursuing

Judges 8:4 “And Gideon came to Jordan, [and] passed over, he, and the three hundred men that [were] with him, faint, yet pursuing [them].”

Judges 8:5 “And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they [be] faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.”

I once had a very hectic day and got home very tired and fagged out. I knew I needed a good rest so that I could stand up to read, and also write Lift.
I was tired, but I had to pursue! Staying awake wasn’t easy, but because I had targets to meet, I gave myself a little push beyond the limit.
As 2015 gradually grinds to a halt, I want to throw a challenge to you; summon up all your strength and give it your best shot! What are those things you desired so earnestly at the beginning of the year, but seem to have eluded you?
A new spiritual walk with God? A new job? A change of status? Desire to get a life partner? Whatever it is, it can still happen if only you will still hold on!
I know you’re tired; I know you’re on the verge of quitting; but friend, you’re not alone in this course.
Gideon and three hundred men of war, excellent and expert soldiers once came to the same point. They were on the verge of quitting, but he said, “…faint, yet pursuing them.”
That is an outstanding statement. Faint, yet pursuing. Beloved, I give you the same admonition this morning; you may be fainting; but that is the point at which to pursue more vigorously.
I want you to rise up and give it another hot pursuit in the place of prayer, believing and confessing the word.
Galatians 6:9 “So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit.”(MSG)
They don’t give prize to quitters; run courageously to the finish line. Your dreams can still happen, and they will in Jesus’ name! Shalom!
