Drop the Weight; Travel Light-3

Hebrews 12:1 “THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,” (AMP)
…From yesterday…
What weights are you carrying and running with?
Let’s see some of them as mentioned by Apostle Paul:
2 Corinthians 12:20 “For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and [that] I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest [there be] debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:”
Titus 3:3 “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.”
Paul highlighted some of the weights most people are running with above. Friend, check the list and see the one you might be carrying.
Nobody can run well carrying excess luggage. Such stuffs only reduce your speed and performance. For how long are you going to carry the man or woman that offended you 3years ago in your mind?
Hear this:
John 20:23 “Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; [and] whose soever [sins] ye retain, they are retained.”
I remember hearing a sermon on the above scripture about how we can hold people’s sins. The preacher made it look as if it is one of the powers we have as Christians to forgive or retain sins.
Well, I am not condemning him, but the question is, of what benefit is it going to be to you if you retain anybody’s sin?
To be continued…
