Who is Your Driver?-4

Galatians 5:16 “[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Galatians 5:17 “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh…”
…From yesterday…
So, how do I achieve these now that I am born again?
Galatians 5:24 “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
The first thing Paul said is that as Christians we’ve crucified the flesh, and since we’ve done that, we must constantly live in the reality of it. We need to keep confessing this scripture daily. It is the truth we know that sets us free.
Paul then admonishes us to live in the Spirit and also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25 “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Living in the Spirit simply means being conscious of the reality of our spiritual environment, ordering our lives and living it according to the word of God. It means creating an atmosphere of heaven here on earth, refusing to be contaminated by the things of the world.
The key word here is yielding to the Spirit of God each time He prompts us, which means we must know His voice. Knowing His voice is something we consciously develop as we improve on our daily walk with Him.
We develop intimacy and friendship with a person as we hang around each other, the same way we develop intimacy with the personality of the Holy Spirit by constant fellowship through the word of God.
Once we maintain this, we will never miss His voice again. A man you don’t know, you don’t hear his voice.
I am sure you can pick the voice of your best friend from a crowd, but can you pick the Holy Spirit’s voice?
