Who is Your Driver? – 3

Galatians 5:16 “[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Galatians 5:17 “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
…From yesterday…
Galatians 5:21 “Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Those are manifestations that show the flesh is seriously driving the vehicle and driving rough!
Beloved, Paul here wasn’t talking or writing to some unbelievers; he wrote to believers to help keep us in check so that we don’t drive rough despite being born again! I implore you to check the list and change your driver!
So who should be in-charge? By God’s design, He wants to be in-charge of our vehicles by His Spirit through our own spirit. God wants His Spirit to give instructions to our spirit, who will in turn drive the soul and put the body under control.
God never intends for man to live outside Him. He wants our spirit to be fully in control, as dictated by His Spirit.
How do we know when His Spirit is driving our spirit, and our spirit is driving our vehicle?
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,”
Galatians 5:23 “Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
These are traits of a man whose spirit is firmly in charge of his life! A man who daily receives orders from God’s Spirit!
So, how do I achieve these now that I am born again?
Galatians 5:24 “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
To be continued…
