Life Lessons from Driving-10

Mark 4:35 “And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.”
Mark 5:1 “And they came over unto the other side of the sea…”
…From yesterday…
While travelling with my family, I noticed a signpost ahead, but somehow I ignored it. I saw it quite alright but didn’t care to read it. Few meters down the line, we suddenly came across a speed breaker or bump. I immediately applied the brake, but, alas, it was too late.
We ran into the speed breaker and the car slowed down, but the impact was bad. Although the car didn’t suffer any major damage, we were a bit shaken up.
Beloved, these are things that happen in real life. God sends us warning signals as we travel, but oftentimes we simply ignore them. The Holy Spirit puts out caution signs to us, but we simply carry on without heeding them.
Many problems of life are avoidable. God places signposts for us to take precautions. Friend, don’t wait till it’s almost too late before heeding. An English idiom says, “A stitch in time saves nine”.
Hear this:
Numbers 22:23 “And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.”
Numbers 22:25 “And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall: and he smote her again.”
In the above passage, God appeared to Balaam and gave him instructions in a dream, but he ignored them. Then God placed his ass as a signpost for him, but still he refused to heed those instructions. He ignored them and refused to read them.
The next thing that happened was that he suffered a minor accident when his ass crushed his foot against the wall. Instead of Balaam taking precaution, he still went ahead stubbornly.
To be continued…
