Life Lessons from Driving-6
Mark 4:35 “And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.”
Mark 5:1 “And they came over unto the other side of the sea…”
…From yesterday…
I remember when we were about to embark on the journey I told you about. The first thing I did was to call a friend who just returned from a journey along that same route. He told me the condition of the road, where I could speed, where I’ll need to slow down and where I’ll need to drive with utmost caution.
He went as far as telling me where we could stop to have a good meal if we wanted. He prepared me for the trip as I already had a mental picture of the road.
You need such men in your life. Men whose yesterday is the tomorrow you’re pursuing, so that you can gather enough wisdom for your own trip. Samuel would have missed stepping into his divine destiny if he hadn’t listened to his spiritual father.
Beloved, I must however warn that it’s not just anybody that can lead you; ask the Holy Spirit for discernment in figuring out who to listen to and who you should not.
Haven’t learnt how to drive and knowing the road by asking for direction, the next most important thing to learn and master is driving through a bad weather!
Driving in a bad weather can be very challenging, but expert drivers master this act well. These include driving in the rain, in the mist, when visibility is low and even driving at night.
Knowing how to drive in bad weather always gives you an edge. It makes you head and shoulder above your colleagues.
In our focal scripture, the difference between Jesus and his disciples was their ability to navigate and drive in a bad weather. Bad weather is real, but when you are prepared you will easily navigate it unscathed!
Jesus knew what to do in a bad weather; his disciples didn’t!
