Implementing Change-2
Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2: “Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. YOU’LL BE CHANGED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” (MSG)
…From yesterday…
A wise man referred to this group by a statement I love, he said, “Some people will change when they see the light, others change only when they feel the heat.” Hear this:
Psalms 119:105 “Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (KJV)
Psalms 119:105 “Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk.” (CEV)
Psalms 119:105 “By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.” (MSG)
Friend, the word of God is light; it gives direction and illumination. The Psalmist says that once light, which is also information comes, he changes and moves in the right direction. He doesn’t wait for the light to become “hot” before changing approximately. Light is good, but heat is not so comfortable. Don’t wait to be burned before doing the right thing.
The second category of people includes those that “tolerate change”. Looking at it on the surface, it seems these folks are doing great, but the truth is this: they have issues. To tolerate change means to accept it without seeing the positive in it. They just surrender because they feel they don’t have a choice. These people don’t get the best out of the change that occurs. This zone is not a good one.
