1Samuel 10:6 “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.”
1Samuel 10:10 “And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.”
1Samuel 10:13 “And when he had made an end of prophesying he came to the high place.”
…From yesterday…
Beloved, apart from the advantages of travelling by train, which are enormous, traveling 15 miles per hour is not even a speed any sane man in this generation will want to travel at. Nowadays, railways can travel at neck breaking speeds in excess of 300 miles per hour, and efforts are being made to increase it.
I asked myself what would have happened if President Jackson had ordered the project to be discontinued!
For thousands of years, mankind traveled along the ground: by foot, by horse-and-buggy, by locomotive and eventually by automobile. Thanks to the dreams of Orville and Wilbur Wright, we now hop across oceans in a matter of hours.
I am sure you can’t imagine waking up without your TV, DVD, mobile phones, computers, microphone, cars, cooking stove and gas; but the truth is, there was a time we were living without them!
Some of these things we now enjoy and have become our second nature didn’t come easy. They were products of very few but tireless and determined men who chose to embrace change against all odds.
One beautiful song we all love to hear or perhaps sing at Christmas is the song Silent Night. But, it will interest you to know that when the song SILENT NIGHT was first sung, it was said to be a vulgar mischief and void of all religious and Christian feelings. It was banished from the church!
In actual fact, when a pastor first introduced singing of the hymn in his church, 22 members left, including his trusted deacons and elders.
