…From yesterday…
The whole concept of growth revolves around change. The only way you know a child is growing is by the changes you observe. If it’s time for a child to start walking for instance and he didn’t make any move, naturally the parents become concerned.
The issue however is that most adults don’t want to embrace change. The same folks that got concerned about their kids don’t get concern when they don’t grow! They resist change by all means.
Change for most people is a taboo they are ready to fight. Going back down memory lane, I discovered so many appalling things I found difficult to believe. Several of the things we have come to embrace today were once seen as taboos.
For example, we have all come to appreciate our mobile phones, which many can’t do without, but it will interest you to know that when a man called Marconi several years ago announced to his friends that he had discovered a way to transmit signals wirelessly, by enhancing the power of the ether, his friends arranged for him to be taken to a psychiatrist!
They literally forced him into an asylum, bound hands and legs! How I wish those folks are alive today to see how the wireless technology literally runs our lives.
Man simply hates change. Let me share a letter I read with you. I still find it difficult to believe the content and couldn’t help laughing and wondering. Read it below:
