Genesis 27:5 “Rebekah was eavesdropping as Isaac spoke to his son Esau. As soon as Esau had gone off to the country to hunt game for his father,”
Genesis 27:6 “Rebekah spoke to her son Jacob. “I just overheard your father talking with your brother, Esau. He said,”
Genesis 27:7 ‘Bring me some game and fix me a hearty meal so that I can eat and bless you with GOD’s blessing before I die.’
Genesis 27:8 “Now, my son, listen to me. Do what I tell you.” (MSG)
One thing that can shorten the distance between our aspirations and success is what I call the “gift of men”. It is a bridge between our present and our desired future.
There are several factors that accounts for a man’s success but this particular one is one we all need to know and always appropriate.
We are relational beings and no man is an island. What you are trying to achieve might just be in the hands of another.
Our focal scripture is an interesting one. I know most “religious” folks might not like this dimension but I have come to discover that grace works in a way that makes religious folks mad!
Let’s look at this piece from the grace angle and pick some lessons except perhaps you’re an Edomite, I mean a decendant of Esau…laughing.
In our focal scripture, Isaac was old and wanted giving out blessings before he died. He sent for his “favourite boy” and gave him instructions on how the blessings will come.
I want to submit here that Isaac was not fair! For God sake he has two boys who were twins. Why didn’t he give the two of them same instructions, wait for them to come then bless the eldest before the younger?
Rather he wanted blessing only one but thank God for Rebecca! She eavesdrop and heard the whole “plot”!
Beloved, you need “Rebeccas” in your life’s journey. You need men that can give you just an information that will Lift you in destiny!
