Water to Wine-5
John 2:3 “And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.”
John 2:4 “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.”
John 2:5 “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].”
…From yesterday…
However, when Mary called on Him, Jesus told His mother that it was not yet His time to perform miracles!
The question is why did He perform the miracle eventually? What can we learn about His “seeming reluctance” to perform the miracle?
First of all, it was the third day, a perfect day as discussed earlier. Mary understood divine timing. When you work by God’s timing, you always get His attention.
Also, know that we can always “inconvenience God” by faith! He has promised and will always keep His word! We must know that the only thing that pleases God is faith in Him. Once faith is activated, God can be “inconvenienced”.
Faith comes into operation when we simply obey His word. With faith we can always move Him to act. He told His mom that He was not ready but she went ahead and acted in faith.
We can always bring God into our situation by faith. Mary gave those guys a stern warning, “whatever he tells you to do, do it”. Don’t ask questions, don’t debate it, just obey Him.
I don’t know what God has been telling you to do, stop the debate, launch out in faith, obey and watch God bring the whole resources of heaven into your situation.
Faith is taking God at His word. Once He says it, that settles it. Faith will always move God to act.
Remember also that Mary called on Him to do something about the situation; in simple terms, Mary prayed!
Prayer is a channel for triggering our faith, always use it!
Prayer is having fellowship with God; He longs to hear your voice!
To be continued…
