Little children-12
Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Matthew 18:3 “And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].” (AMP)
…From yesterday…
4. The fourth childlike trait I want to talk about in this series is what I call forgiveness!
Yes, I mean the same forgiveness you shout about without practising!
I still don’t understand how children do this with so much ease. But I think it’s something worth practising and mastering as well.
You see children fight, almost boxing themselves and all you do as adult is tell them sorry and tell them to say sorry to each other and that settles it. They leave your presence holding hands! The next meeting you hear them giggling away and enjoying their play with no worries in this world!
But, beloved, adults ain’t like that! Most adults keep a log book where they record your iniquities since the day you were born…I’m laughing here and hard.
They will tell you all your sins from birth till date, including those of your ancestors! They can vividly remember your very first offence or sin as a child!
In fact, what God has forgotten they will help God remember! I guess you’ve met people like that. They practically fill the “sin log book” before going to bed every night!
Worse off are those that will not tell you you’ve offended them until several months or years later. Some tell the whole world about your offence and you only get to hear it on “CNN”, not from them!
In extreme cases they take their time waiting for the perfect opportunity to retaliate then freshen your memory on why they have to hurt you that much!
To be continued…
