Focused purpose! I like that. No wonder Paul said:
Philippians 3:15 “So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision–you’ll see it yet!”(MSG)
Ephesians 1:18 “your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for Christians,”(MSG)
When you maintain focus, blurred vision becomes clear. Until you become emotionally/intellectually bound to a course, you are not ready to achieve success in it yet. Deadly commitment is the key to great success.
I once read that Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa from 1503 to 1507! About four unbroken years, and that he picked it up again around 1517 to do some more work on it. He died some centuries back but the whole world still stands in awe of this great painting.
The most important thing you gain from maintaining focus and deadly commitment is that distractions become alien to you. A wise man said, “problems and challenges are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal”.
Wnen you get committed to what you’re doing, you wear out every opposition and every other thing becomes secondary. Nothing they did to Paul shifted his focus! Nothing they did to Jesus shifted his focus and at the end both of them confidently said, “it is finished!”
Go pick up this childlike trait from wherever you dumped it!
