Little children-5

Mark 10:13 “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.”
Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:15 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
Matthew 18:3 “And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at all].” (AMP)
…From yesterday…
She asked the kids, to sit down and gave them a lesson in swimming pool construction. She told them how expensive it is to construct just one, not talk of three. She rounded up by telling them they would be lucky to get a bathtub in their backyard.
Now you understand what Jesus meant by that statement. The kids believed their dad and even though had not seen the pool, have started sharing it!! The mother, the adult and legalistic woman knew all the reasons why they couldn’t have the pool! She acted like those disciples, she fenced them off from what their dad promised.
I am sure you’re not just smilling at the story, I am sure you can see yourself in it. Can you see the significant difference in the way a child believes and the way an adult does?
God, our Dad has given us some mind blowing promises. Hear this:
2 Peter 1:4 “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises…”
2 Peter 1:4 “We were also given absolutely terrific promises…” (MSG)
The question however is how much do you trust him to bring them to pass? How much of those promises have you explained away?
To be continued…
