Little children-3

Mark 10:13 “And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.”
Mark 10:14 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:15 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
…From yesterday…
They tell you, you’re too young to hear God and they’re not willing to teach you how. They want to be the consultants between you and God. I am sure you’ve met a couple of them. They present an unapproachable and judgemental God to you.
My friend, I have great news for you. It doesn’t work that way! God doesn’t have children, then grand children, we are all His children, Hallelujah!
You ain’t too young to hear God, neither do you require a go-between or consultant to hear him! Friend, don’t let anybody deceive you. God is your father and you can always talk to him. My kids don’t ask for even their mum’s permission to talk to me. Don’t let anybody fence you off from Jesus anymore; that era has passed.
Now you have full access to God once you’re his child. End of story.
Back to the lesson, Jesus made a rather instructive statement in response to his disciples action and we want to consider some lessons we can learn from it.
So, what child like behaviours do we need to imbibe to lay hold on our inheritance?
1. The first one is what I call faith or absolute trust in God.
One interesting thing about children is that they don’t believe anything is impossible! They believe they can get anything anytime.
Once you tell your kids certain things are possible, they just believe it. It might take God to convince them otherwise!
To be continued…
