I still want Rachel-7

Genesis 29:26 “And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.”
Genesis 29:27 “Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.”
Genesis 29:28 “And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.”
…From yesterday…
Another translation says But David found strength in the Lord his God.
In contemporary English I would say, David got fired up again after discussing the issue with the Lord his God! This is the way to go. Talk to Him, discuss the matter with Him, He sure is a master at turning things around. Always consult Him first!
Finally, the last thing I want to share with you is what I call hardwork! Yes, you’re right, I mean working hard!
Genesis 29:27 “Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.”
Genesis 29:28 “And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.”
Friend, if you still want Rachel, roll up your sleeves and get down to work! No short cuts. Laban told Joseph, “Boy, you’ve got to get down to work and do the remaining 7 years you were running away from” (my translation). Rachel will cost you 14 years sir, not 7!
In Gen. 29:28, Laban told him to “…serve with me yet seven other years”. One of the meanings of the word “serve” in the Herbrew is to “Compel”.
Very interesting word, it means to force, constrain, overpower or coerce. Beloved, one thing that is difficult to do after a disappointment is to muster courage to get back to work!
I am sure you understand what I am saying. How do I get my body to work on the same thing again after a major setback or disappointment? Is it possible?
To be continued…
Love you BiG
