I still want Rachel-4
Genesis 29:26 “And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.”
Genesis 29:27 “Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.”
Genesis 29:28 “And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.”
…From yesterday…
Friend, what has that last disappointment taught you? Has it changed you? Are you smarter and wiser? Has it built patience and perseverance in you? Why not take a look at your life and make a note of what you have learnt! Let’s take a cue from Jacob!
Don’t be a man that can be easily deceived again. Be a great thinker, one not given to haste. Know when you’re been deceived. Learn to see with your inner eyes. Don’t be easily fooled!
Also let your patience mechanism be in top gear. Saul had a great dream but ruined it with impatience. Abraham and Sarah had a wonderful dream but ruined it with impatience in the form of Hagar. Your dream will take time, wait for it; don’t jump the gun!
The third thing we can learn from the way Jacob responded to disappointment is courage, risk and audacity.
Audacity is the courage to think big, to show initiative, and to take risks for a dream while facing the possibility of failure. If your dreams must be fulfilled, you must become audacious!
Jacob faced the disappointment bravely. He knew what he wanted was Rachel and he stayed the course. He was not ready to give uo on his dream!
Friend, while meditating and working on this piece, God told me to stay the course and keep working at my Rachel, I believe He is saying that to you too.
Beloved, in what area of your life have you settled for Leah? I have good news for you: Rachel is still a possibility!!
To be continued…
Love you BiG
