This is “Leah” situation that can be devastating. Men can even swear to you in the name of God, but yet disappoint you. They promise to be there for you always, but you got there and they are nowhere to be found.
They promise to give you the job, contract, trip or even marriage, but they let you down. Perhaps yours was even somebody you trusted and confided in, yet he went ahead to announce it on CNN!
Beloved, such is life. Men can promise you Rachel and give you Leah! Sometimes it might not be their making, they might have also been promised Rachel and given Leah.
God knows this for sure that is why He said:
Jeremiah 17:5 “…Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”
He didn’t say stupid or foolish is the man that put his trust in another man, He said cursed! Why, you may ask?
Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
The first commandment clarifies that. God does not intend for you to have any other god beside Him, period! God knows that putting your trust in another mortal will shift your attention from Him and Beloved, God is a jealous God!
Is Lift saying I shouldn’t trust man? Yes, please, but rather trust God that the man will keep his words! Hear David:
Psalms 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
Psalms 146:3 “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.”
The man you’re putting your trust in is also trusting God for help!
Psalms 56:11 “In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.”
No man can give you Leah for Rachel when you trust in God!
