Genesis 29:25 “And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it [was] Leah: and he said to Laban, What [is] this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?”

Friend, we still have a lot of “Labans” around; be weary of them and let patience be your companion.
Another reason why we face disappointment as seen from this story is doing shady deals! Jacob was a con artist and was used to doing shady deals. Let me explain:
Genesis 29:23 “And it came to pass in the EVENING, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her.”
Laban didn’t give him a wife in the day, he gave her to him in the evening or night. Don’t do “evening deals”. Evening connotes darkness. Let all your dealings be done in the daylight. Let your business be done in the light.
Don’t let darkness hang around your activities. Be plain! Jacob was used to doing shady deals to con people; that was why he wasn’t suspicious and ended up getting conned himself. It was his cunny ways that made him accept the evening deal and also agree to go into a woman without looking at her face!
Beloved, run away from any deal that is not straight. Take a flight from shady evening deals, Laban is always hiding Leah behind darkness, beware!! Quit doing deals that have veils covering them.
The third reason I see here is that lack of patience normally results in us adoptng shortcuts.
Genesis 29:26 “And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.”
Genesis 29:27 “Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.”
Some bible scholars believe Jacob actually knew the culture, he just wanted to play a fast one on Laban!
