Haman had come to finalise his plot to hang Mordecai but God had gone ahead of him. Jehovah was waiting for Haman in the palace!
Do you think it was a coincidence? Not at all; you sure know it wasn’t. There was a superior master mind, the Great strategist working behind the scene! His name is Jehovah the Master planner, Rewarder and Lord of the Harvest!
Esther 6:6 “So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?”
Haman was so excited; in his mind he thought that having just finished helping the king expose his enemies and even paying to get them killed, he must be the one in line for the king’s honour. So he described the reward he wanted.
Esther 6:8 “Let the royal apparel be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:”
Esther 6:9 “And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king’s most noble princes, that they may array the man [withal] whom the king delighteth to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city…”
Lovely reward! But if they had asked Mordecai what he wanted, I’m so sure he would’ve simply told the king, free me and my people and let us go home! His slave mentality couldn’t have thought of a crown and horse ride!
As the story goes, Mordecai was rewarded so also Haman (you can finish up the story). God “rewarded each man according to his works.” (Mat.16:27)
Quit asking men for your reward; keep doing good and allow the Lord of the Harvest to reward you in due time. “NOTHING COMPARES TO HIS COMPENSATION PLAN”, Selah!
