Luke 15:29 “The son said, ‘Look how many years I’ve stayed here serving you, never giving you one moment of grief, but have you ever thrown a party for me and my friends?” (MSG)
Certain “characters” don’t exist alone, they move around in “gangs” and you should be mindful of this. Unthankfulness goes hand in hand with pride, boasting and disobedience.
One hardly exist alone, that is why you must beware to arrest any negative tendency you may see in yourself. Kill it before it grows and drags others into your life.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help and guide you, He can sure help you work on your weaknesses and help you become more like Christ.
A proud man will always be unthankful. He always feels everybody owes him something. He commonizes anything you do for him, he even sees it as a right. Don’t worry about such men, always remember that God is the rewarder, not man. Hear this:
Matthew 16:27 “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”
On your part, keep doing good; don’t stop; have it at the back of your mind that God “…shall reward every man according to his works.” Take your eyes off the “thank you” from man and expect His reward!
A man once did good to a king but no thank you came. Rather,  there was a plot to kill him and destroy his generation. But guess what? The same king he protected from assassination sanctioned his destruction! Let’s look at the story as we round up this piece:
Esther 2:21 “In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king’s gate, two of the king’s chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.”
Esther 2:22 “And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told [it] unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king [thereof] in Mordecai’s name.”
