The other side of dreams-6

Genesis 37:5 “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told [it] his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.”
Genesis 37:11 “And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.”
…From yesterday…
Genesis 12:9 “And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.”
Abram obeyed God by hurrying towards the promised land. Well, who wouldn’t!
But, on getting to the promised land, something unbelievable happened! Hear this:
Genesis 12:10 “And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.”
He arrived Canaan and what he met was not milk and honey, he came face to face with famine!!
Friend, many times you obey God, believe him and expect abundance once you arrive Canaan but then all you see is famine. The truth is for every vision there is a divine provision.
Provision can be written as “pro” and “vision”. The word pro means before. It means an arrangement or preparation beforehand. God is not disorganised. Before the vision, he made arrangements.
He knew what you’ll need and always reward obedience but you must trust Him and stick with him all the way.
The devil on the other hand knows that if you don’t have access to the pro-vision, the vision becomes stagnant, so he goes all out to starve you of resources. He played this card before Abram and Abram fell for it!
When God brought Abram to the promised land, famine was waiting but instead of Abram consulting God on the next line of action or obedience, he didn’t.
Instead, he took the devil’s bait and ran down to Egypt! He made up his mind to start staying in Egypt. “…Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.” (Gen.12:10).
Many times, we have a beautiful dream, but the only thing we see is the sunny rosy side.
To be continued…
