Good news Galore-1

2Samuel 6:10 “So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.”
2Samuel 6:11 “And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.”
2Samuel 6:12 ”And it was told king David, saying The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.”
I listened to a bible commentary on our focal scripture for today and I couldn’t help but laugh. The commentator said Obededom probably had a beautiful wife and from all indication David must have been targeting her for long. He couldn’t send the man to the war front since Obededom was a priest.
I think it made a lot of sense because; you do not send something that just killed a man to the house of your friend!
The ark just killed Uzzah, and the only place David could think of dropping it was at Obededom’s house. Our focal scripture says, “…David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David…”, David couldn’t bring the ark to his own house. Some leaders can be wicked!
God however turned the situation around. God is a specialist at shaming the wicked. The same ark that killed a man, promoted and ushered another into great wealth and prominence.
On taking a critical look at the story, I discovered that David put Obededom’s house under 24hours surveillance. He was expecting to hear that Obededom was dead but glory be to God, no such news came. The bible says Obededom’s life was turned around for the better by God, in just three months.
Friend, this piece is just to encourage your heart and pray for you.
