2 Samuel 5:6 “David and his men immediately set out for Jerusalem to take on the Jebusites, who lived in that country. But they said, “You might as well go home! Even the blind and the lame could keep you out. You can’t get in here!” They had convinced themselves that David couldn’t break through.”
2 Samuel 5:7 “But David went right ahead and captured the fortress of Zion, known ever since as the City of David.”(MSG)
Just like in the days of David, the lame and the blind are life’s situations and men that want to cripple you and blur your vision. They want to weary you out, cripple your progress, keep you stagnant, depressed and without results.
But, Friend, I have good news for you. You can find out what God has said concerning the issue, discuss with Him in prayers and let courage rise up within you to take positive steps.
What has been stopping you? Is it a negative doctor’s report? A bad situation at work? A stagnant career? Whatever it is, know they’re just the blind and the lame trying to stop you. 
Don’t cave in, stop them before they stop you!
As we roundup this piece, let me show you another instance of doing the uncommon.
Luke 1:59 “And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.”
Luke 1:60 “And his mother answered and said, Not [so]; but he shall be called John.”
Luke 1:61 “And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.”
John’s father was temporarily dumb before his birth. When he was born and the day for his naming came, their kindred didn’t know the name to give to him since his dad couldn’t talk.
They deliberated among themselves and concluded on naming him after his father. They want the negative trend to continue!
