Yes you can-6
2 Samuel 5:6 “David and his men immediately set out for Jerusalem to take on the Jebusites, who lived in that country. But they said, “You might as well go home! Even the blind and the lame could keep you out. You can’t get in here!” They had convinced themselves that David couldn’t break through.”
2 Samuel 5:7 “But David went right ahead and captured the fortress of Zion, known ever since as the City of David.”(MSG)
…From yesterday…That text can be rewritten as, “the people that are knowledgeable and skillful in God’s ability, shall become courageous, hardened and resolute to do the impossible [exploits].”
A knowledge of God instills courage. It instills the confident character not to be afraid or intimidated!
The 14th day of October 1947 is a day the aviation industry and indeed the world will not forget in a hurry. It was a day when a man did the impossible against all odds! His name is Captain Charles “Chuck” Yeager.
For several years, aviators believed that man was not meant to fly faster than the speed of sound. It was believed that something called “transonic drag rise” would tear any aircraft and man travelling at that speed apart. All that however changed on that day in 1947, when Yeager flew the X-1 aircraft beyond the sound barrier.
I once watched the video on youtube. In the video, Yeager was scared as he approached the sound barrier. The aircraft was vibrating seriously, as if everything including himself will break apart, but he kept on and suddenly there was a big sound called the “sonic boom” signifying a crossing over.
Immediately after he crossed over, something interesting happened. The flight became stable, smooth and relatively calm. You will never know how far you can go until you try!
Yeager proved the book makers wrong! Neither he nor the plane broke apart!
To be continued…
