…From yesterday…I read of a country preparing 16 years in advance for an Olympics competition! They started preparing their athletes for an event in the future, that is the secret to reigning!
The place of training is where competitions are lost and won!
Joseph had to get trained for thirteen years! Through the pit, slavery, harsh weather of the desert and prison, before eventually reigning in Egypt.
I remember once doing a piece about the Law of first mention, talking about the first time a word is mentioned in the bible.
Guess the first time the word training was mentioned in the bible? It will interest you to know that it was first mentioned in relation to war! You will never outgrow warfare, you must simply be trained, retrained and trained to fight! Hear this:
Genesis 14:14 “And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.”
Lot, Abram’s nephew got himself into a mess and needed help fast. Abram stepped in, he could not bear to watch Lot become a slave to some heathen kings, so he went after the captors.
From this scripture I understood that Abram had more than three hundred and eighteen servants, the problem was, he couldn’t take all of them to war, why? The answer is seen in that same text, not all of them were trained! Abram could only arm the trained ones!
Beloved, are you wondering why certain things you’ve been believing God for are yet to materialise? Wondering why God has not committed some assignments into your hands? Well, the answer is not far fetched. Go get yourself some training!
