Numbering-2
Psalms 90:12 “So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalms 90:12 “Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.”(CEV)
Friend, numbering our days is simply making the days count!
We add years to our years, we add days and months to the year and keep saying the year is far spent. The year is gradually running to an end.
These are common statements that shows we are actually counting the days instead of making the days count.
Numbering is so important to God that He has a book in the bible called Numbers. If you’ve ever gone through the book, one thing you’ll see are numbers. Well articulated and carefully stated.
Hear this:
Numbers 1:19 “As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.”
Numbers 1:20 “And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;”
Till date one thing a soldier will never forget is his service number. Numbering is always carefully and deliberately done.
Counting is easier and faster than numbering, it does not involve as much effort too. That is why most people count their days rather than numbering them.
Beloved, can you account for how your day was spent? Probably down to the hours and minutes. What did you do and when? Also what will you do and when? If you can not give these details you are probably wasting your days and time.
You’ve got to be proactive and deliberate about how you spend your time. If you don’t, you will wake up and suddenly discover another year has gone by without you achieving much. I want you to get up and get intentional about how your day is run.
You can never compare the man that count his days to the one who number them.
To be continued…
