Habakkuk 3:19 “The LORD God [is] my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ [feet], and he will make me to walk upon mine high places…”
Habakkuk 3:19 “The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights…”(NLT)
To make here means to re-produce, construct, form and fashion! Just as we’ve been discussing, there is what you are which has brought you to where you are. But there is also what you must become to get to where He want you to be.
God dwells on the mountain top and his desire is that where He His we may be also. Hear this:
Psalms 68:16 “Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, At the mountain which God has desired for His abode? Surely the LORD will dwell there forever.”
That is His abode, and His desire is for us to permanently dwell there as well. John 14:3 says,”…that where I am, there ye may be also.”
The text says that “ye MAY be also.” The word “may” makes it optional. It is not a must, getting to the high place is only meant for those who can follow effectively, those who “will”!
The word make also mean, “to make ready”, “to prepare”, “to appoint and to lead”. Follow me and I will “lead you”, will you allow Him take the lead in your life?
Finally, the word “make” mean “to pass and celebrate!!” I love that. When you follow Him and pass, you become a celebrity!!
The world is yet to stop celebrating the great patriarchs of old who followed Him! Men who allowed Him to make them, men who submitted their feet to be transformed into hooves. Men like Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, David, Peter, John, Paul to mention a few. Most were ordinary men, unread, lowly, born without spoons but yet arrived and dwelled on high.
