1 Timothy 2:1 “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how…”
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
…From yesterday…Calling the throne first was the secret to David’s unending victories.
He fought 66 battles and lost none. That’s a hundred percent! Not even Joshua had that record. Yes, the bible says, “Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ…”( 2 Cor. 2:14).
Of a truth, God causes us to triumph always, but Beloved, the triumph can only come in Christ. When you consult him first!
Quit running headlong into battles without proper consultation with the throne! This is the reason most believers lose battles they should have naturally won.
Remember Joshua and the battle of Ai? Joshua and the children of Israel enquired of the Lord when they came up against Jericho. The Lord gave them specific instructions on how to go about the battle and they won. But few days after they came up against a much smaller opposition, in the form of a city called Ai.
This folks went to spy out the city and came to a funny conclusion:
Joshua 7:3 “And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; [and] make not all the people to labour thither; for they [are but] few.”
They have suddenly become experts at war strategies. They relied so much on their little brains and physical sight.
They told Joshua to relax, if we have conquered Jericho what is small Ai? In fact we don’t need much people, Ai is so small, let’s conserve our energy. We don’t even need to bother God!
We often fall into such traps, suddenly becoming wiser than God, relying much more on our self acclaimed expertise…
