First point of call-2
1 Timothy 2:1 “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how…”
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
I believe we can learn alot from the young boy in our story of yesterday, he has known and accepted with childlike simplicity what to do in an emergency. I think we can emulate him.
In case of an emergency we should also have some throne numbers to dial. When issues come up, reach for the following direct numbers to the throne:
When scared “dial” Psalm 34:4
When Anxious “dial” Phil 4:6
When in need of protection “dial” Psalm 18:1-3
When facing a crisis “dial” Psalms 121
When Discouraged “dial” Matthew 5:11 & 12
Friend, the list is endless, I suggest you save those numbers on your phone or better still in your Heart!
David was once confronted with a challenge. He was taking refuge in a place called Keilah and the Philistines attacked the place. He was a warrior and he had some of his best soldiers with him. Not long before then, he had killed the champion of the Philistines called Goliath. He didn’t just kill Goliath, he comprehensively destroyed their army.
The Philistines regrouped and attacked a place where David was. Naturally at the mention of David’s name they would’ve ran away, talkless of seeing the young man physically. These were facts that David knew, I am sure if it were you and I, we would have rushed out to fight them, riding on the recent victory over Goliath, but not David!
The bible says, “…David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.” (1 Samuel 23:2)
That is the man that knows the secret of visiting the throne first! Friends, let’s take a cue from David. Calling the throne first…
