First point of call-1
1 Timothy 2:1 “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how…” (MSG)
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Let me start today’s Lift by sharing this hilarious story I once read with you:
A young boy dialed 911 for a curious reason, he wanted the police to help him solve his math problem! The officer at the other end opted to send someone to their house, but the boy was too audacious, insisting that the police talk to him on the phone.
“What kind of math problem?”, the officer asked. “Take aways”, was the boy’s response. As he was conversing with the police his mother overheard, wondering why he would call the police. “You told me if I ever had a problem or in an emergency, I should call 911”, the boy explained to his nervous mother.
Now, did his mother say that? Absolutely!
Who do you call first when life throws you some hard nuts? In fact what is your first reaction when a challenge pop-up?
You don’t need to tell me, I know what your reaction will likely be! You’ll simply reach for your phone! You probably have emergency numbers stored in such a way that can be easily reached. Well spelt out!
My doctor-000000
Police-911

I am sure you stored them in a way similar to what we have above! I am not saying it’s bad but our focal scripture made a recommendation that is more ideal. Paul said “The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how…”. In order words, your first point of call should always be the throne via prayer!
Throne not phone should always be our first point of call! I believe we can learn alot from the young boy in the story above…To be continued
