Wrong Company-2

2 Chronicles 20:35 “And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:”
2 Chronicles 20:36 “And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongeber.”
2 Chronicles 20:37 “…Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken…”
…From yesterday…Jehoshaphat went to war as a spectator! He was a spectator because he simply watched as his enemies helped destroy each other.
God took over the battle and made his enemies fight each other till there was no man standing.
Jehoshaphat taught us that you can go to war without bows, arrows, missiles, guns etc and still win. He went to war not with regular soldiers but with his “church choir”!
He didn’t just win the war, he gathered so much spoil that made him one of the richest kings in his days.
But soon after that great victory, Jehoshaphat orchestrated his own down fall, how sad! How you may ask?
He went and joined himself to the wrong company, to Ahaziah the king of Israel, who was a wicked man. A wicked man by God’s definition is simply a man who does what God hates!
Beloved, watch your company, don’t be friends with people who love to do what God hates.
Ahaziah was a decendant of Ahab and Jezebel. Hear this:
1 Kings 22:52,53 “And he did evil in the sight of the LORD…For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.”
That was the description of Jehoshaphat’s patner! They went into business together, they started the business quite alright and it seem prosperous initially but it eventually fail.
Beloved, watch who you keep company with. Don’t be best of friends with an enemy of God. It is a venture that will end in futility because God will not be involved!
Love you BiG
