Jesus gone missing-2

Luke 2:42 “And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.”
Luke 2:43 “And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.”
You hear Christians say stuff like, “I remember when I use to pray two hours a day, just that I don’t have that time a again. That was before I gave birth!” Meanwhile, she prayed, fasted and believed God for almost two years for that baby and now…
Let’s look at our anchor scripture again:
Luke 2:43 “And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not [of it].”
It will interest you to know that the bible says they left Jesus behind “when they had fulfilled the days”, meaning when they become satisfied.
Success had finally come, what they’ve been believing God for has arrived. But in the euphoria and excitement of celebration they “misplaced Jesus”
They become satisfied with the gift and forgot the giver! What made the whole stuff appalling is that they knew it not! It is very subtle.
Arrival mentality has set in, oh see what “I have achieved”. I believe you understand that line! To make matters worse, they left Him in church!!
Friend, Mary and Joseph left Jesus in the temple but most of us believers are guilty of same! When was the last time you picked up your bible to read, study and meditate during the week? We go to church on Sunday and once out of service, our bibles remain closed till the following Sunday! We storm into the week without him and yet we wonder why we’ve been running into some problems.
In fact most believers behave like Mary, hear this:
Luke 2:48 “And when they saw him, they were amazed and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us?”
To be continued…
