Zechariah 11:12 “Then I addressed them: “Pay me what you think I’m worth.” They paid me an insulting sum, counting out thirty silver coins.”
Zechariah 11:13 “GOD told me, “Throw it in the poor box.” This stingy wage was all they thought of me and my work! So I took the thirty silver coins and threw them into the poor box in GOD’s Temple.” (MSG)
How wrong he was! He got some money quite alright, but he spent more than half his adult life in jail and died sick and poor. Wrong value system!
The money is not in the bank, it is not the paper notes you run after!
Money is not tangible because money is simply an idea!! Wealth is an idea or wisdom! The physical cash is a byproduct of an idea generated by wisdom! Hear this:
Proverbs 8:10 “Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.”
Proverbs 8:11 “For wisdom [is] better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.”
Proverbs 8:18 “Riches and honour [are] with me; [yea], durable riches and righteousness.”
Proverbs 8:19 “My fruit [is] better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.”
It is not about the tangible or physical cash it is about what produces it! The cash can go, be stolen, destroyed in fire etc but as long as the intangible which is the real cash remain intact, you can never be poor!
I heard of a very wealthy man that lost some millions of dollars and all he did was to go play golf, looking calm and relaxed. When asked why he looked so calm and collected playing golf despite the loss, he smiled and simply said, “I know how to get it back”, tapping his head!
But, I’ve also read of a poor man who was given, $3000 to go do business. The money was stolen and the poor man committed suicide! It’s all about correct valuation!
