Proverbs 4:13 “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.”
As we draw the curtain on this piece permit me to share this incidence with you.
A severe accident occured at a major junction and the vehicles involved were badly damaged. The appalling thing however is that there is a functioning traffic light at the junction where it occured, within a major town. How come?
The accident occured because the drivers simply refused to follow instructions! On the traffic light, Red means “Stop”, Amber or yellow means “Get Ready to move” while Green means “Move”. One driver saw red but simply thought he could beat the traffic but unfortunately for him he didn’t see the oncoming vehicle.
We can never be careful enough! The one who controls the “traffic system” of our lives says Stop on Red but most times we want to be smart. We seem to be so much in a hurry and can’t just wait for the Green.
Friend, it’s time to slow down and let His instructions guide your life!
Proverbs 5:23 “He will die for lack of discipline and instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray and be lost.” (AMP)
One word that will always be found around instruction is the word discipline. It takes discipline and self control to follow and obey instructions. If only the driver that saw red was disciplined enough to control his urge to move and restrain himself for just ten seconds, that accident could have been averted.
Beloved, it’s time to force your body to obey the instructions of God! Let God help you by His Spirit on your inside. Paul said, I keep my body under (1 Cor. 9:27), it is not an easy thing to do because the body can be wild but do it any way.
Subject your will to His Will always, it is a sign of Christian maturity. The Lord will help you.
Never forget that Instruction will save you from destruction! It is your life! Selah!
