Quit your comfort zone-2

Genesis 12:1 “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:”
Genesis 12:2 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:”
Genesis 12:4 “So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram [was] seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”
…From yesterday…He had a very intimidating CV but God came to him one evening and announced to him that there are more lands to be conquered! More victories to be won, more records to be broken, more opportunities to boost his CV.
Friend, God is called “the one that is more than enough”. “He cannot finish!” I want to throw a challenge to you this week, look around you and tell yourself there can be more. Let God inspire you to leave your comfort zone. Why not try something different. Throw yourself a new challenge. Make up your mind to beat your own record. To be better at what you’re doing.
Don’t remain stagnant. You need to know when you need to change, don’t be too sentimental and emotional. Abram was emotional and sentimental, that was why he didn’t leave when God spoke to him initially, that was why the bible says, “Now the LORD had said unto Abram…”, Gen 12:1. But thank God he eventually left and we are all the better for it.
Robert Schuller once told a story about 10 paralytic and helpless patients in a particular hospital ward. The nurses do everything for them including helping them to toilet. But then on a particular afternoon a cobra found it’s way into the hospital ward. Your guess is as good as mine, within just 10 seconds of the cobras presence in the ward, the cobra was left alone in there…To be continued
