Isaiah 30:15 “For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength…”
Noise have become a part of our everyday life and we seem to be helpless about it. Urbanization seems to have chased quietness far away from us. If you live in any typical urban settlement, you will have to live or look for a way to cope with the noise level.
Sometimes when I study a bible verse and see certain truths, I cannot but agree that the world seeems to want to dissuade us from enjoying certain benefits as described in scriptures.
One of such benefits is strength as stated in our focal scripture. The bible says one of the ways by which we as believers can derive strength is from quietness. No wonder the world seem to be going gaga with all manner of noise pollution.
Which invariably means noise actually drains strength! Roudiness and noise will not go away but will rather increase in orderto drain us of the strength that is hidden in quietness! We need to understand this truth and design a way to beat the devil at his game.
Quietness here talks about being tranquil, at peace, at rest and undisturbed. It is our ability to remain calm, serene and free from emotional or mental disturbance. So, how do I enjoy this wonderful secret has revealed by God?
Before I go into that, let me share this story as sent to me by a brother of mine:
There once was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It was no ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him.
After searching high and low among the hay for a long while; he gave up and enlisted the help of a group of children playing outside the barn.
He promised them that the person who found it would be rewarded.
Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn…To be continued
