Law of Interpretation-3

Ecclesiastes 8:1 “Who [is] as the wise [man]? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.”
Ecclesiastes 8:1 “How wonderful to be wise, to analyze and interpret things. Wisdom lights up a person’s face, softening its harshness.”(NLT)
Genesis 40:8 “And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and [there is] no interpreter of it…”
Interesting…Two of the most powerful officer’s of Pharoah in the above scripture needed an interpreter! They were his Butler and Baker.
Mr. Butler is the one having charge of Pharaoh’s wines and liquors. He was also the chief male servant of Pharaoh’s household who has charge of other employees, receives guests, directs the serving of meals, and performs various personal services.
Mr. Baker on the other hand was incharge of the King’s bread, cakes and other food items. The King cannot eat without these two guys. They “interpret” the King’s food and stomach…permit me to say that.
They solve all manner of problems for the king. It will be note worthy to state that Egypt at that time was the most advanced and industrialised nation on earth and Pharoah was about the most powerful man on earth, which makes those two guys very powerful as well. The Interpretation of the well being of the most powerful monach on earth rest on their shoulders.
But as powerful and skilful as they were in their trades, a day came when they also needed an interpreter. Friend, we all need interpreters in our lives. We can’t live without them but the question is are you also an interpreter? Whose dreams are you interpreting?
Back to Joseph, those folks needed an interpreter and they were worried. Their faces were hard and they were sad! But unknown to them, the man they spoke to was a skilled interpreter. Most of us are like that…To be continued
